What type of skirts can we choose from

by admin on Jun.20, 2009, under Fashion

There are quite a lot of different styles of skirts to choose from but not all of them may suit all of us.

I’ll firstly outline a few of the designs that we more than often see hanging up in the boutiques and stores and also give you a guide as to what kind of figure they suit most.

The traditional pencil skirt which is quite tight fitting and straight and when worn with a pair of high heel shoes and white shirt always conjures up the image of an air hostess or a secretary, is a very flattering style for all those who are slim and don’t have to much in the way of hips. So if you don’t have too much of a curvy figure this skirt is fine for you.

For those of us who are on the other hand a little curvy it is better to choose a skirt that hugs you quite tightly round the hips and tummy and then just below the tummy suddenly turns into a layered skirt seeming like the skirt of a flamenco dancer but not so frilly. The top part of the skirt holds you firm and then the layers at the bottom, because they protrude out a little at the sides, give the optical illusion that the hips are not so large.

Another easy skirt to choose is a wrap around skirt. You place one end of the skirt over your stomach with the end bit on the right side of your waist then wrap it right round you anti-clockwise until you get to the left side of your waist where you will be able to tie it up in a bow. This skirt is really flattering for anyone but more so for people who have too much of a tummy because the method of tying it up at the side causes the material to drape over your stomach and disguises any bulge that you may have beneath it.
